- Finding the equivalent to Swiffer dusting sheets (a HUGE find - import from Japan maybe?)
- Buying a crock pot
- Having the bus seriously wait for you as you run to catch it with your arms full of a crock pot, bucket and mop, and groceries (a sight I'm sure...)
- Motioning to the man across from you on the bus to look at the no smoking sign and put out his cigarette... which he did... by rubbing it into the plastic seat next to him... all while smiling innocently at this crazy foreigner as if she's from outer space
Ah... the life...
yay for swiffer sheets and crock pots!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your courage to "encouage" him to put-it-out. As I remember, smoking is extremely common in East Asia. I'm surprised they have no smoking signs. Are you the only enforcer?
ReplyDeleteYa, I think because it was on the bus. There's a clear sign there... along with one saying no knitting. In general smoking is allowed everywhere.
ReplyDeleteLOL..He probably saw you guys coming as the bus waited--stressed out, felt he HAD to light up... then the irony on the cake is you had him put it out! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLet me know when you take up smoking to fit in. I watched an american in the US try to fit in with some east asian businessman by smoking. I'm not quite sure he actually inhaled. I think he got tired of saying "no" every 2 hours when they took a smoke break.
