Today in writing class we were learning colors. (Ya, ya, we know our colors, but writing the characters can be another story.) Anyway, our teacher said that here they often say, "Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Black, Brown." (Leaving out green.) Or they say all of them in the order of the rainbow. Eric and I seem to disagree about how it is in English. So my question is, if you're listing off basic colors really fast, what order would you say them in? We need some outside opinions.
red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and i would probably omit orange, and brown which is fine, cause i always forget how to say those in chinese anyway. And yea, i was reading a story the other day, and I couldn't read any of the color characters. And of course, i learned that there are three different ways to say green. On is specific to plants...
ReplyDeleteAnother friend said, "If I was naming off colors fast I would go... red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and then I would prob. say black, gray, white and brown."
ReplyDeleteStill different from what I was thinking...
I do the ROY G BIV of the rainbow! but i leave out indigo because i don't think that is a real color...
ReplyDeleteMy sister had two answers:
ReplyDelete"red and yellow and pink and green purple and orange and blue blue blue :D i can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too...."
"or else of course roygbiv red orange yellow green blue indigo violet :D but of course that has not hot pink..so for me..i would start Hot pink, light pink, fuschia, and then the rest :D"
