Visiting Bennett

Yesterday Malachi got to go visit his friend Bennett. When we got home he told Eric all about it. His version went something like this:

Hi, Dad!

Hi, Malachi! How was your day?

It was great, Dad. I got to go to Bennett's house!

Oh ya, how was that?

Well, I woke up really early because I was so excited to go. But then I got tired, so I slept the whole way there. I woke up as soon as we got there though! I don't really know how to play with other kids yet, but Bennett has lots of fun toys - you should see them! Like this really great music set that all fits inside the drum. I especially loved the egg shakers! It was so easy to make noise with them. And then he has this kitchen set complete with food - even food like sushi! I liked to crawl around with some of it in my mouth like a puppy. And did you know they have a dog? He was excited to see me, and I liked him too. Bennett was so nice he let me take a nap in his bed. I cried and tried to tell mom I didn't need a nap, but finally I slept a little. We got to eat lunch there, and mom still tried to get me to eat my vegetables. Yuck. Eventually we had to go home. I was pretty tired, so I slept again until we pulled into the driveway. It was so fun, but it was good to be home.

Wow, Malachi, it sounds like you had a good time!

Ya, I did, Dad. Maybe next time you can come too.

Sounds good, son. Sounds good.
