Happy Birthday Malachi!

Today our little guy is 366 days old!

We're not doing a lot today, but he did get to go to the doctor for shots!

And I made his "favorite" meal - chili and cornbread for dinner. (He really loves it.)

Family is coming this weekend, so we'll celebrate more on Saturday.

But he opened his gifts from us - the classic shape holder and a book.

A friend of mine blogs regularly about her daughter's milestones, so I thought I'd follow her template for a Malachi update.

Clothes: He's wearing all 12 month clothes. Maybe one pair of pjs is 18 moths - just for the length. Shoes are size 4.

Food: Done with bottles. Drinking whole milk in a cup. Still nursing some. Pretty much gets everything we eat, but isn't big on green vegetables. Loves, loves, loves chili beans. Loves fruit. And loves hummus! Yeah!

Sleep: He sleeps all night from 8pm until 6/7am. Still takes two naps - one around 9:30, and one around 2. Each for a little over an hour.

Activity: Walking. Everywhere. Starting to run. We finally bought him a cheap pair of shoes just to go to the park on Tuesday because it was 70 here! Can stand up on his own although sometimes he still crawls to the wall to get up. And can bend down to pick things up without falling.

Speech: Some da-da ma-ma, but that's about it

Personality: Loves to explore and climb. Ya... I don't know. He's not shy, and he's not quiet.

Likes:
Food - Chili with beans. And cornbread.
Toys - Household objects that are not really toys: oatmeal canisters, plastic hangers, tupperware, toilet paper holder, etc. Remotes, cell phones, and keys.
Books - Peek a Who remains a favorite.
Games - Playing "chase" around the coffee table.
Really anything he perceives he's not supposed to have. (for example if he gets into the cupboards by himself, he's excited, but if we open them for him to play, he's not interested)

Dislikes: Playing by himself for too long. Green vegetables.

M-A-L-A-C-H-I

I know this blog has a lot of Malachi, but here's something I made for his room that I'm really proud of.

I found the idea on pinterest, so you can get it off my board titled, "Malachi". Or you can go here to Becoming Martha. I could explain all the steps, but she does a great job. It's really easy, and looks great. Thank you to my dad for the lumber and to Shaina for the letters!
